The 25th Hour!
There was a time when this friendship was the most meaningful one
for you. On many occasions, you had passed sleepless nights just to wait
for the next morning, to meet your friend and tell about your feelings,
the emotions which didn't let you sleep or the excitements to share
about how was your day....
It was U who called her at weird hours just to tell few silly little things, tell her about your fantasies or your crushes, tell about the dreams you want to achieve, discuss the clashes and disagreements you received from your family.
You did a long round of chats with no time bound with this closest friend one day. You shared your tiffin with this friend, you snatched her tiffin too.
You enriched her with your silly fashion tips. You shouted out of joy with her, you wept with her; you walked long roads with her.
She was that one special friend with whom you shared anger, your fears, your happiness and even silence. Yes, a silence which said it all, not a void one like today. She occupied a larger part of your world..
But, now, your world is everything sans her..you are busy today. You are busy with your daily to-do list. You are busy at home, at office; you are busy with your family, your kid.
You are busy making breakfasts, doing household chores, packing tiffin for your younger one, or getting them ready for the school, you are on hurry to catch the bus for your office, You are busy to reach the office in time to be on the good book of your boss.
You are busy maintaining decorum while having your lunch with your colleagues just to show how good you are at office etiquettes. You are busy in the short coffee breaks to keep u awake in the office in the lazy afternoon.
You are rushing to catch the evening bus in time to go back home. And when you return home, either you manage to give time to your family amid lot of complaints from them or you keep yourself tied up in the illusory world of technology. You are also managing to help your child with his homework.
Finally, you go to bed in time just to wake up early following day.
But, Alas, did you really do anything for your own happiness?
And, doing all these regular scheduled jobs, its not that she didn't cross your mind. But yes, you were quiet and happy to give yourself enough excuses of time crunch for not talking to her.
And day after day, the distance got broader, Ego came in between.”Why should I contact her every time, why not she? (Although, you never thought about it earlier)". Sadly and unknowingly, another sweet innocent relationship had died.
But have you ever thought what are you losing? You are losing the happiness u shared once, the dreams you had, the plans you made, and the hobbies you cultivated...
You are losing your heart, you are losing one another friend, You are losing the real "You”; losing that extra hour of your day, the time which was yours-- completely yours.
The time which U managed hard to keep aside from your usual 24 hour schedule.
The time when you could have opened your heart and let your feelings flow when you had a listener aside you always.
And, Unluckily, It’s not the story of you but your friend too...just losing the 25th hour of your day..
