Serendipity..It happens!

Image
The other day when my mirror showed me the first few silver linings, my memory was on a roller coaster ride to my happy days. It took me back to the days when I had just passed out my college and was wandering to get a good job to realize self-dependency on its whole.. :-) And, there I can see myself rushing for the fully occupied last compartment of the 8:40 am metro and somehow managing myself to get into the overloaded tube train with different people going to make a living to some destinations. At last, the doors of the train succeeded in their nth attempt to close :-) This was almost an everyday story!! I would hardly get a chance for a seat ever. Though a short journey, still it was really boring and tiresome standing all the way every day among the unknown crowd holding the rails and struggling to get balance for my feet just to stand straight. Gradually, the crowd became known to me. Although I didn't had many acquaintances but started exchanging smiles w...

The 25th Hour!

There was a time when this friendship was the most meaningful one for you. On many occasions, you had passed sleepless nights just to wait for the next morning, to meet your friend and tell about your feelings, the emotions which didn't let you sleep or the excitements to share about how was your day.... It was U who called her at weird hours just to tell few silly little things, tell her about your fantasies or your crushes, tell about the dreams you want to achieve, discuss the clashes and disagreements you received from your family. You did a long round of chats with no time bound with this closest friend one day. You shared your tiffin with this friend, you snatched her tiffin too. You enriched her with your silly fashion tips. You shouted out of joy with her, you wept with her; you walked long roads with her. She was that one special friend with whom you shared anger, your fears, your happiness and even silence. Yes, a silence which said it all, not a void on...

Hour-glass : A short story

Image
It was too late when he realised that she was leaving him forever..Till the time he went running after her, he found she has already entered the narrow path of the hour-glass..where he could not enter as he was too obese for it.. :-) and he watched her going..not turning back for a single moment and slowly he lost the sight of the girl, who once longed to be with him in his world but he didnt allow her...Now, as she reached the other side of the hour-glass, their worlds are apart.

And now..Aren't we getting punished each day?

Long back , when corporal punishments were not yet banned in schools, my teachers would freely cane us without a second thought for the mischief we did as a child, just as they used to beat up their own kids at home... Myself, a kind of timid girl, used to do my work perfectly just to avoid such canes and was happily doing that till one day when I was probably in Class IX, a time when self respect was newly formed, my class teacher came and punished the whole class for making noise which was audible to the whole school as per her. She made us stand for the whole period and caned us for doing that. As it was a new experience for me I couldn't control and cried aloud out of shame and humility. Could not even share such a bad experience with my Ma just to avoid my sibling from teasing me for the same. The result was high fever whole night and a huge tension for my Ma as my father was posted in another part of the country. Next day, after helping me with proper medicin...
